Australian energy producer Santos Ltd (ASX: STO) has announced the resignation of its Chief Financial Officer, Sherry Duhe, with Lachlan Harris appointed as Acting Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.

Duhe departs after leading key financial initiatives, including a structural cost reduction program and improvements to the company’s long-term planning and budgeting processes. CEO Kevin Gallagher praised her “significant contribution” to Santos’ executive leadership and confirmed that she is leaving to pursue other interests.

Harris, who joined Santos in 2010 from KPMG, has served as Treasurer and Deputy CFO for more than two years and previously acted as interim CFO. His promotion ensures continuity in the company’s financial leadership during the transition period.

The leadership change comes as Santos continues to navigate a challenging global energy market and advances major LNG and decarbonization projects, including Barossa and Moomba CCS. Leadership stability in finance is seen as key to maintaining investor confidence amid strategic initiatives and ongoing merger speculation in Australia’s oil and gas sector.
