xReality Group Limited (ASX:XRG) shares rose by more than 41% to AUD 0.044 per share on Thursday morning after the company announced a significant contract win through its U.S. subsidiary, Operator XR LLC. The contract, awarded by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), marks the largest order to date for the company’s flagship OP-2 virtual reality training systems.
$5.7 Million U.S. Contract for Operator XR
The awarded contract is valued at up to AUD 5.71 million and includes the supply of OP-2 software licenses, implementation, training, and multi-year support services for law enforcement training in Texas. The initial component of the contract is worth AUD 4.3 million, covering systems delivery and two years of support. An additional AUD 1.4 million is allocated for optional support services to be delivered in years three, four, and five.
All systems are expected to be delivered during Q2 FY26, with payment terms set at 30 days post-receipt of the systems. The OP-2 systems are designed for immersive, portable, and secure mission planning and training for law enforcement agencies.
Partnership with Texas DPS Expands U.S. Presence
The Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) is the statewide law enforcement agency for the second-largest U.S. state by population and area, responsible for public safety across more than 30 million residents. Its responsibilities include highway patrol, criminal investigations, driver licensing, crime labs, and coordination with federal and local agencies on security matters.
Operator XR’s systems will be deployed to support training activities for law enforcement across the state, positioning XRG’s platform for expanded engagement with other Department of Safety (DPS) agencies across the U.S., of which there are 31 in total.
CEO Statement and Strategic Significance
Commenting on the contract, XRG CEO Wayne Jones said the agreement with Texas DPS represents a key milestone in the company’s U.S. expansion. He noted that the agency’s selection of the OP-2 platform demonstrates the platform’s capabilities for state-level deployment and supports the company’s broader growth objectives in the U.S. law enforcement and defence markets.
