HITIQ Limited (ASX:HIQ) saw its share price rise by more than 15.4% to AUD 0.015 on 11 July 2025 after unveiling its expansion into the UK consumer market with the upcoming launch of its PROTEQT concussion management system. The company confirmed that the UK release will begin on 4 August, representing HITIQ’s first international market entry and a major step in its global growth strategy.

The UK market offers substantial potential for HITIQ’s technology, particularly within collision sports. Rugby Union and Rugby League together account for an estimated 2.02 million participants, with Hockey and Combat Sports also providing considerable market opportunity. The company is targeting this large user base with a business model that includes both upfront device sales and recurring annual subscription revenue. Subscriptions provide users with updated mouthguard units each year and continued access to HITIQ’s evolving concussion management platform.

A standout feature of the UK launch is the system’s integration with NHS 111, the country’s 24/7 non-emergency health advice service. This enables PROTEQT users to connect directly with NHS medical professionals for concussion symptom assessment and health guidance at no additional cost. HITIQ believes this direct connection to the UK’s national healthcare system gives it a competitive edge, enhancing the system's appeal for athletes, parents, and community sports organisations.

The PROTEQT app has been customised for UK users to support this integration, setting it apart as the only consumer concussion management platform with NHS connectivity. HITIQ expects this differentiation will support strong adoption rates, especially among users seeking accessible and medically-supported solutions for head injury monitoring.

To support the UK rollout, HITIQ has appointed Chris Lord, European Brand Manager at Shock Doctor, as its UK Brand Liaison. The appointment has been formally authorised by United Sports Brands Europe and is aimed at driving joint marketing initiatives, managing public relations, and maintaining brand consistency for the co-branded PROTEQT system across the region.

HITIQ has already commenced production for 2025 and confirmed manufacturing capacity for up to 100,000 units in 2026, reflecting its confidence in scaling to meet market demand. Over recent months, the company has focused on building manufacturing partnerships, such as its agreement with Shock Doctor, to support international distribution.

The market responded positively to the announcement, with investors welcoming HITIQ’s expansion plans and the high-profile NHS partnership.
