Norwegian state-owned power company Statkraft has agreed to sell its Colombian renewables portfolio, Enerfín Colombia, to Ecopetrol, the national oil company of Colombia. The deal includes the transfer of staff, eight projects under development and the 130MW Portón del Sol solar plant - the first utility-scale solar plant in the country. The transaction will be finalised in the third quarter of 2025. Statkraft's acquisition of Enerfín Colombia in May 2024 significantly bolstered its presence in Spain and Brazil, ranking it among the top ten wind power producers in these countries. That acquisition also added a substantial portfolio to Statkraft's assets, comprising 1.5GW of wind and solar power projects in operation and under construction, as well as a pipeline of projects in development. The move is in line with Statkraft's strategy to grow and build scale in selected markets, including the Nordics, Europe and South America. Ecopetrol executive vice-president for Europe Barbara Flesche stated: “I am pleased to announce that we have successfully signed the second of the planned divestments of our Enerfín portfolio in countries outside Statkraft’s core markets. The deal confirms that Enerfín has built a skilled team and an attractive portfolio in Colombia. We are looking forward to watching the business grow under new ownership.” Statkraft also submitted a planning application in October 2024 to Sweden’s Ministry of Climate and Economic Affairs for the 2.1GW Baltic Offshore Delta North wind farm in the Baltic Sea. The project will comprise 105 bottom-fixed wind turbines and is located 100km east of Stockholm and 55km from Sandhamn island, in water depths ranging from 40m to 80m.
