NRW Holdings, via its subsidiary Golding Contractors, has secured a mining services agreement valued at approximately A$750m ($502.6m) with TEC Coal for operations at the Stanwell Meandu Mine in Australia. The agreement spans a period of 5.5 years, beginning this month. The Meandu Mine is situated 25km south-east of Kingaroy in the South Burnett region of Queensland. It is said to have an annual production capacity of 7.6 million tonnes (mt) and is expected to supply coal until the year 2037. The mine was originally commissioned in 1983. The mining services contract includes a six-month mobilisation phase followed by a five-year operational phase. Under the terms of the agreement, Golding Contractors will manage the entire mining operation. This includes the operation and maintenance of three fleets of heavy mining equipment, a dragline and a processing plant, all supplied by the principal, TEC Coal. The contract will provide employment for around 400 local residents. NRW CEO Jules Pemberton said: “This award is reflective of Goldings’ excellent reputation for the delivery of safe and efficient contract mining services. The capital-light structure of the contract aligns with our strategy of reducing the capital intensity of our contract mining operations and positions the group well to be able to deliver continued value to our shareholders. “We look forward to welcoming the approximately 400 local employees to the NRW family and to providing them with a safe and positive workplace. Goldings’ and the broader NRW Group look forward to a long and successful partnership with TEC Coal.” NRW is a provider of diversified contract services across various sectors in Australia, with operations extending to Canada and the US. The company offers a wide array of services including civil construction, contract mining and equipment refurbishment through its various divisions. In July 2025, NRW announced that its NRW Civil & Mining division secured a contract from Rio Tinto for the Brockman Syncline 1 mine project within the Brockman Mine Hub in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The contract is said to be valued at approximately A$167m. NRW has been tasked with undertaking the construction of earthworks, roadworks and drainage systems associated with the primary crusher, overland conveyor and ancillary infrastructure. Additionally, NRW will construct haul roads, access routes and concrete structures. The project scope includes drill and blast operations and involves the supply and building of a mechanically stabilised earth wall at the run of mine, two precast concrete overpass tunnels and in-situ concrete foundations for the primary crusher.
