Chubb has appointed Tim Boroughs as vice-chairman at Chubb Group and executive chairman of asset management.

Most recently, Boroughs served as chief investment officer (CIO) of Chubb and its predecessor company ACE since joining in 2000.

His previous roles include director of fixed income at Tudor Investment Corporation and managing partner and director of Global Leveraged Investment Activity at Fischer Francis Trees & Watts.

Boroughs has also been involved in academia, serving as a lecturer at the New York Institute of Finance, and has held positions as a trustee and board member at the American School in London.

Chubb chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg said: "For more than 25 years, Tim has shaped and managed our investment strategies and built and led our investment organisation globally.

“He is a wise, deeply experienced, exceptional investor and asset manager. This appointment recognises the importance and value to our organization of Tim's continued contribution to Chubb's success."

Following Boroughs' appointment, Chris Hogan has been promoted to senior vice-president of Chubb Group and CIO, succeeding Boroughs.

Hogan, who joined Chubb in 2023, will report to Boroughs in his new capacity.

His background includes a 22-year stint at Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently a fixed income portfolio manager, head of the global securitised investment team and co-chief investment officer for GSAM's fixed income hedge fund.

Greenberg added: "I am very pleased to promote Chris to chief investment officer. He is a proven leader and talented investment manager who has demonstrated the skill, deep knowledge, professionalism and character of a Chubb senior executive. Chris has fully earned our trust and confidence."

Last month, Kamran Mazhar returned to Chubb Arabia as CEO, following a break of around two years.

"Chubb rejigs investment and asset management leadership " was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
