Highlights
- At its Oonagalabi Project, Hole OGRC010 records more than 100m of copper-zinc mineralisation with high-grade sections.
- Rock chip sampling above VT1 confirms the presence of copper, gold, silver, and tellurium.
- Drilling continues across multiple VTEM and magnetic targets to define mineralisation extent.
Litchfield Minerals Limited (ASX:LMS) reported that Hole 10 (OGRC010) at its Oonagalabi Project in the Northern Territory has intersected more than 100m of disseminated copper-zinc mineralisation. Field logging and portable XRF (pXRF) readings indicate multiple broad, higher-grade intervals within a mineralised stratigraphic sequence. Laboratory assays for copper, gold, silver, and other metals are being fast-tracked, with results expected in around four weeks.
Preliminary pXRF results from OGRC010 include:
- 104m @ 1.37% CuEq from surface (0.92% Cu, 1.59% Zn, 0.08% Pb)
- 21m @ 2.26% CuEq from 144m (1.81% Cu, 1.58% Zn, 0.03% Pb) within a 33m zone @ 1.69% CuEq
- 41m @ 1.42% CuEq from surface (0.85% Cu, 1.99% Zn, 0.11% Pb)
- 30m @ 1.02% CuEq from 98m (0.58% Cu, 1.55% Zn, 0.10% Pb)
These intervals are consistent with visual observations of chalcopyrite, sphalerite, and minor galena, making OGRC010 the most substantial intersection drilled at Oonagalabi to date. The hole also targeted a high chargeability western IP anomaly, confirming the connection between IP responses and the Cu-Zn sulphide mineralisation.
VTEM and Surface Sampling Results
VTEM analysis suggests high-grade mineralisation occurs within low-conductivity zones, indicating potential extensions at adjacent targets, including Bomb Diggity and VT2. Surface rock chips above VT1 returned 0.6% Cu, 0.6 g/t Au, 14 g/t Ag, and 7 ppm Te, suggesting that the underlying conductor is likely metal-bearing.
Progress Across Multiple Drill Targets
Additional drilling is ongoing or recently completed:
- 19P intersected 25m of Cu-Zn mineralisation from surface while testing a magnetic anomaly.
- 14P, targeting a magnetic and gold vector anomaly, recorded 20m of Cu-Zn mineralisation with semi-massive magnetite bands.
- 20P (“Bomb Diggity”) tested overlapping magnetic, gravity, and VTEM anomalies, intersecting peripheral copper mineralisation.
Managing Director Statement
Litchfield Minerals’ Managing Director commented: “Hole 10 demonstrates that the system hosts both significant grades and widths, exceeding 100m of copper sulphide mineralisation with multiple high-grade intervals. Every hole drilled so far has encountered copper, confirming the continuity of the system. The occurrence of strong grades in low-conductivity zones is particularly notable and expands the scope of exploration. While drilling has progressed slower than planned, both rigs are focused on priority targets, and we expect further results in the coming weeks. VT2 drilling is now a key focus due to the large, highly conductive anomaly, which independent review indicates is likely to have a sulphide source.”
