Vocus Group Ltd
VOC Details
· Rising competition: Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) stock lost over 5.6% on April 12, 2017 impacted by the concerns over the rising competition in the Australian telecom sector. Primarily, updates from peers have impacted the stock. TPG Telecom won the bid in the auction for mobile phone airspace that would lead the firm to have a huge share going forward. TPM announced its plans to build a $1.4 billion network. Telstra was excluded from participating in the bid as it already is a major player. Meanwhile, VOC had offloaded their 16% stake in their Macquarie telecom group.
· Recommendation: The stock has been under pressure and lost over 17% in the last four weeks and 36.6% in the last six months (as at April 11, 2017). The recent plunge gives a bargain opportunity and the group’s long-term efforts might help it move towards resurgence. We maintain a “Buy” recommendation at the current price of $ 3.37
