The group is enhancing its capital position via an underwritten placement to investors for raising over A$60 million in total. The group recently made a Security Purchase Plan to raise over A$10 million.

  • Positive regulations by China drove the stock higher: Bellamy's Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL) drove up by 5.5% on April 15, 2016 driven by the positive China updates wherein the country introduced new regulatory announcements. Based on this update, all the infant formulas that are sold in China need to get accredited with a formulation registration certificate by China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) starting from January 2018. Moreover, the group’s infant formula is under 'Positive List’ which could enter China under its free trade zones as per the new tax policy recently issued by the government.
  • Recommendation: We continue to be positive on BAL despite rising competition, and give a “Speculative buy” at the current price of $10.59
