Recommendation Rationale – SELL at AUD 8.170

  • Financial Decline: In FY23, GNC reported a decline in EBITDA to AUD 565mn (FY22: AUD 703mn). The curtailed bottom line was largely driven by higher corporate costs, impairment against Foods NZ business, and increase in net interest.
  • Technical Indicator: The momentum oscillator 14-Day RSI was hovering in at the overbought zone.
  • Business Update: On 16 November 2023, GNC announced dividend payment of AUD 0.300 on 14 December 2023 as per the record date of 30 November 2023.
  • Key Risks: The recent contraction in discretionary spending and inflationary pressure on operating costs are material challenges for GNC.
