Spark New Zealand Ltd (ASX: SPK)
Making a tactical Investment targeting small and medium-sized business customers: Spark New Zealand’s stock traded flat on November 09, 2017 while the group inked an agreement to purchase all shares in Digital Island, which is a NZ-based business telecommunications provider. It has been more than 10 years that SPK has supplied a range of wholesale services to Digital Island. The Company now intends to run Digital Island as a standalone business with it operationally reporting into the Spark Ventures & Wholesale unit. Recently, SPK’s subsidiary Spark Finance had successfully priced an issue of A$150m 10-year fixed rate bonds maturing on 20 October 2027, as an inaugural issue using the Australian debt issuance programme. SPK has been tracking well on many fronts with support from a healthy FY17 performance.
EML Payments Ltd (ASX: EML)
Expanding partnerships: EML Payments also traded flat on November 09, 2017 as the group announced for another gaming partnership for its wholly-owned subsidiary EML Payments Europe with BETDAQ under a multi-year agreement for the provision of branded reloadable cards. The cards can be used by BETDAQ customers to access their winnings and remit funds back into their gaming account. The commercial terms and timing of the product launch are in confidence, and the program is still subject to standard regulatory and other approvals. Earlier, the group indicated for joining hands with the one of the largest gaming players, Betsson Group, and Fortuna Entertainment Group in Europe. In the US, EML Payments USA had bagged a multi-year agreement with InfoSync Services for B2B virtual payments.
EML stock has moved up about 39% in last six months, as at November 08, 2017.
