Clinical trial programme tracking well: While there is no specific news from the cannabis group, Zelda Therapeutics Ltd (ASX: ZLD) stormed higher by 23.6% on November 21, 2017 and it appears that investors might be buying into the stock at the back of recent trends seen for other cannabis stocks that rallied on ASX. The group lately updated the market about its clinical trial programme tracking well as per expectations and the results will be delivered in FY18. ZLD has also collaborated with Complutense University to investigate the impacts of cannabinoids on cancer stem cell-like cells and group’s positive breast cancer research results have indicated for expansion of its breast cancer programme. Zelda had funded an observational trial using cannabis extracts to treat autism and the results for the same have been encouraging. Meanwhile, ZLD stock was placed in a trading halt pending a response to an ASX query that might be relating to the sudden spike in the price.

Boost from infant formula trend: While a2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX: A2M) surged up 5.5% on November 21, 2017, based on the positive update at its annual general meeting demonstrating 68.9% revenue growth for the first four months of FY18, shares of Bellamy’s Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL) followed the trend with a 4.6% share price rise at the back of improving demand for infant formula from Chinese consumers. The group was recently noted to provide an upgraded forecast guidance of 15-20% revenue growth and 17-20% EBITDA margin in FY2018, excluding Camperdown. We believe that the stock trades at high level while the market opportunity may play a big role in terms of growth going forward with CFDA registration yet to be sought, and thus put a ‘Hold’ on the stock at the current price of $11.73
