Arbuthnot Latham has appointed Simon New as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of its Board of Directors, according to a press release.

He succeeds Daniel Dagg, who is stepping back from executive responsibilities after more than nine years with the bank. Dagg will remain until the end of the year to support the transition.

New brings over three decades of experience in financial services, covering both private and commercial banking. He joins from FNZ Group, where he was Chief Customer Officer, and has previously held senior roles at Iress and EY. His career began at Lloyds TSB, where he spent 12 years in private and commercial banking, the company statement said.

Commenting on his appointment, New said he was joining Arbuthnot Latham “at such a pivotal time for the business,” noting the bank’s continued growth and its focus on “developing capabilities and propositions for both today and the future.”

Chief Executive Andrew Salmon thanked Dagg for his “dedication and leadership over the past nine years,” and described New’s background in wealth management and banking as well as his “track record in strategic transformation and customer-focused leadership” as important for the bank’s next phase of development.

"Arbuthnot Latham appoints new COO" was originally created and published by Leasing Life, a GlobalData owned brand.
